The Tales from the Crypt

It was a cold and dark night, and I had just moved into my new house. I was excited to start my new life here, but little did I know that my excitement would be short-lived.

As I was unpacking, I heard a loud thumping noise coming from upstairs. Thinking it was just the house settling, I shrugged it off and continued unpacking. But then, I heard the thumping again and this time it sounded more like someone was walking around upstairs.

I grabbed my gun off the kitchen counter and slowly crept up the stairs. As I reached the top step, I heard a soft moaning coming from one of the bedrooms. I quickly burst into the bedroom, gun pointed forward.

What I saw inside made my blood turn cold. There was an old woman lying on the bed, her skin pale and her eyes wide with fear. She started screaming and pointing at a figure in the corner of the room.

The figure was shrouded in a black cloak, and its face was hidden by a hood. It slowly turned to face me and I could see two glowing red eyes staring at me. I immediately raised my gun and fired at the figure, but it merely vanished in a puff of smoke.

I glanced back at the old woman, who had stopped screaming and was now lying motionless on the bed. I slowly walked over to her and realized she was dead.

I quickly ran out of the house and called the police. They searched the house but found nothing. The only evidence was a single piece of paper on the old woman’s bedside table with the words “The Tales from the Crypt” written on it.

I never returned to that house again. To this day, I still don’t know what that creature was or why it was in my new home. All I know is that it was something sinister, something evil, and something that should never be encountered by anyone ever again.
